Esperanza Winters, BIPOC Therapist in Milwaukee, WI.

You’ve been trying really hard, and I’m here to help!

You’ve tried to figure things out on your own. Venting to your friends, self-help books, reading inspirational quotes and watching Tiktoks have gotten you this far, however you still don’t feel complete. I get it. I’ve been there.

I specialize in working with driven women who feel overwhelmed because they have prioritized the needs of those around them instead of their own. Once upon a time I was in a similar spot as some of my clients. During that time I put the needs of my family ahead of my own needs because that’s what I thought had to be done.

Does this sound familiar? You may be in a similar situation.

Let me help you show up authentically and ask for what you want in order to have the life you desire.

I combine my experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to sessions. Sitting and nodding is not my thing. We will dig in deep to help you get unstuck so you start living the life you desire. Therapy doesn’t have to be doom and gloom. With me you can laugh, swear or relax as long you showing up as your true self.

My clients have described me as authentic, having a highly approachable demeanor with the ability to rapidly build rapport, develop trust and sustain meaningful relationships. They would also mention that I am non-judgmental, solution focused, results-oriented.

Where the work happens

Our time together

In our first few sessions we’ll get to know each other. You get to show up, let your guard and be exactly who you want and need to be in sessions. Sharing what’s brought you to therapy, I will learn all the things you feel are important.

Next we’ll start to put together your goals for therapy. Doing this will help keep us on track and ensures you’re getting what you want out of sessions. Don’t worry we can change our goals at any time.

Each week we will work through any challenges or obstacles that come up. We’ll practice communication strategies, learn boundaries and coping skills that you can use daily.

Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Counseling, and mindfulness in addition to supportive psychotherapy may be used in our sessions.
